GENERAL MEETING


January 17, 2012

1. Call to order- Frank Bruno
 
2. Welcome of new officers- Frank Bruno
 
3. Treasurers report-Frank Schmid  A report was distributed. There is a balance of $3,263.67 in the account.
 
4. SBA Survey-Questionnaire - Melissa distributed copy's for open discussion. It will also be on the web site. Return date of January 27th was requested. The responses to the survey will help guide the direction of the 2012 year.
 
5. Request for volunteers to serve on committees; A meeting of those interested will be held directly after the next general meeting in February.
 
6. Computer Virus Discussion-Frank Schmid. A handout was circulated and 4 specific malware area were discussed.
 
7. General Meeting Calendar-Melissa Bocci distributed this years calender of meetings.
 
8. Request for Volunteers; Gift Card for drawing; Susan Lukens,  Refreshments; Sue Lukens

9. Old Business
-David Wrenn will attend the Good Samaritans meeting, 2nd Tuesday of the month. He will present ideas for co-operative efforts with the SBA.
-Frank Bruno urged SBA members to add to the SBA website as it relates to their companies activities.
-Frank B. asked those present to think about how SBA as a whole and individual members could contribute in the May Community Days.
Melissa-Reminded everyone ROADS also has a web-site they can submit to, as well.
 
10. New Business-
- Frank reminded members it was time to renew membership and submit information for the 2012 directory.
-Randy Braswell expressed gratitude for SBA participation in the community and asked members to attend Stokesdale Town Hall meetings regularly.
 
11. This month the business card drawing was contributed by Melissa Bocci and Randy Braswells' card was the winner drawn.

December 20, 2011

The monthly meeting was held at the Stokesdale Town Hall.
The meeting was called to order by David Wrenn.
The next meeting will be held January 17, 2012 at the Stokesdale Town Hall.
Also every Monday for awhile there will be open forum to meet and discuss any items that anyone would like to bring to the town councils attention. This will continue until the end of February 2012.
The new officers were announced as follows for the 2012 year:
President: Frank Bruno
Vice President: Melissa Bocci
Treasurer: Frank Schmidt
Secretary: Susan Lucens
There was no treasury report due to Deanna being ill.
Frank Bruno said no checks had been written since last month and that the balance consists of approximately $3700.00.
There will be several committee positions that will need to be filled and anyone wanting to be on any of the committees can sign up starting at our next meeting in January.
The Executive Board Meeting will be held January 10th at the Roads at 5:30 p.m.
Open discussion on using the Stokesdale Business Association web page and putting the pictures of the board members and contact information on each of the members so anyone can contact them if need be.

STOKESDALE BUSINESS ASSOCIATION
GENERAL MEETING

SEPTEMBER 20, 2011

The meeting was called to order at 6:13 pm by David Wrenn.
There were 14 present. The next meeting will be October 18th at the Stokesdale Town Hall at 6 pm.
Events: The main focus being the Classic Car Show/Bike Run with Cindy Butler and Lisa Harris handling this event.
As of this meeting there are 11 vendors confirmed. There are 16 volunteers for Friday and Saturday so far.
On the 50/50 so far as of this date is $400.00.
The golf cars will be ready 9-30-11 for Saturday October 1st.
Signs have been made and will be put out this coming weekend and was asked that everyone to please check to see if we can put signs out anyplace that available.
The ad for the Northwest Observer is ready and will be in the September 23-29th edition.
The trophies have been purchased for the winners of the car show.
Financial: 340.00 for signs and banners so far for the Car Show/Bike Run.
$301.00 for Liability Insurance renewal which is due in
October 2nd.
We can always add events for 30-40 dollars per event.
Old Business: the Top 10 meeting with the Mayor and Frank Bruno with some of the things discussed was the Welcome signs for Stokesdale and also the parking area beside Rhoads.
Main Street USA meeting is October 18, 2011. They are to meet with the Town Council. AY Walk will have 4 people on the walk.
New Business: Application for the new committee for the New Year candidate Forum will be on October 18, 2011. Rhoads and Patty Stokes will handle this forum. The Stokesdale Fire Department Auxiliary will make the announcement on the fire department sign out front of the fire department.

August 16, 2011

The call to order was giving by David Wrenn at 6 pm with 25 present.
Our next meeting is to be at held at the Stokesdale Town Hall on Tuesday September 20, at 6:00pm.
Events: Discussion on the October 1st Car and Bike Show. Rain date is set for the following week end October 8th, 2011. Cindy Butler and Lisa Harris is working very hard going to several difference car shows in the surrounding areas to see about getting other applications for the Car and Bike Show. Volunteers will need to fill out the form and turn in to David Wrenn at the Bi-Rite or Fidelity Federal to Deeanna Briggs. Make sure to give all receipts for the Car Show and Bike show to Deeanna Briggs. We need to start calling all that were entered in the car show last year to see if they will be interested in signing up
again this year. Last year we had 37 cars and we had 29 bikes. This year we will be giving out trophies to the winning categories. All registration for cars and bikes will be 20.00. Vendor space will be 10x10 and will also be a 20.00 registration fee. There will be space available inside the business center. We will be needing volunteers to contact vendors to set up tables. Set up will be from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm for 20.00 registration fees.
Breakfast will be included in the registration for the bikers with the ride out being at 9:45 am. This will be a Poker Run as it was last year.
There is to be a 50/50 raffle with the drawing set for 2 pm and the winner does not have to be present to win.
We will be sending out forms for volunteers to work the show. We already have around 15 volunteers signed up. Packets were available for everyone. One for the vendors to sign up for that spells all questions they may have along with the form to sign up for their 10x10 space. The next is for the Sponors and the difference levels on each and what they pertain to, or what will be offered by each level.
Also the sign up for the Cark and the Bike run. The Pre-registration is $20.00 then after 9/16 it goes to $25.00. The Bike run will include one breakfast, one ticket for Biker Raffle and one free poker hand.
The Car Show will offer be giving out trophies for the following categories: Best of Show, Boy Scouts Badge Winner, Stokesdale’s Hot Rod, Fireman’s Choice and finally the Best Detailed. Winners will receive an invitation to participate with the Stokesdale Business Association in the 2011 Stokesdale Christmas Parade. There is to be a DJ and also Door Prizes.
The Stokesdale Market will be the same day and here will be golf carts available to move people back and forth.
We will be putting an advertisement in the Northwest Observer and will need all the sponsors signed up by September 15th so we can have them in the advertisement.
We had a meet the Candidates for the upcoming election for the Stokesdale Town Council, with six candidates introducing themselves and answering some questions from the floor.
The incumbent were Bobby Richardson, Cheryl Steele, and James Attaway.
The new candidates are Randy Braswell, Bill Jones and Frank Bruno. We hope we will be able to have them back again before the upcoming election.
Food was brought in by Woodmen of the World, they also supplied a plaque for the 9-11 memorial for the flag pole in the down town park.

GENERAL MEETING

Stokesdale Town Hall
June 21th, 2011

The June meeting was called to order by David Wrenn Tuesday June 21st at 6:09 pm with 11 present.
Was made a motion to cancel the July meeting and have our next meeting on August 16th at 6:00 pm at the Town Hall. Motion was made by Deanna Brigg and seconded by Melissa Bocci. Motion carried.
Business expo: $380.00 was made for the Good Samaritan. The 50/50 raffle was won by Mark Gauldin. We now have a tent in case anyone needs the use of it.
Community Day: Pam Lemons said that the donation for community was needed and was asked that we donate $84.00 for the cost of the fliers that were given out. Pam Lemons made the motion and Melissa Bocci seconded and the motion carried.
Directories: Were discussed and was told that not all residence received one in the mail. Some members who live in Springdale did
not receive in the mail. He was to check with neighbors to see if they received.
Rhoads are sponsoring the flag raising ceremony on July 2ndat the new Historic Downtown Park at 10 AM. Flag and pole were donated by the Woodmen of the World.
Old Business: We will be discussing the site of the location to hold our meetings at our next Business Meeting.
